How CedarChoice handles your personal data. Short answer: we collect very little, we never sell it, and you can delete it at any time.
CedarChoice is a free social entertainment platform operated from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Our postal address is 85 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5H 1J9. For privacy-related questions, write to us at [email protected].
This Privacy Charter explains what information we collect when you use the CedarChoice website, why we collect it, how we store and protect it, and what rights you have over it as a resident of Canada. It applies to all visitors and users regardless of province.
We operate a minimal data-collection policy. Because no account creation is required to use CedarChoice, the platform does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any financial information under any circumstances. The categories of information we may process are:
We do not use third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking pixels on CedarChoice. Google Consent Mode v2 is implemented and is set to deny all non-essential storage by default until you explicitly consent.
The limited information we process is used exclusively for the following purposes:
We do not use your data for profiling, targeted advertising, automated decision-making, or any purpose beyond the functional operation of the platform described above. We never sell, rent, or trade any data to third parties.
As a Canadian resident, you are protected by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. Under these frameworks, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. We do not charge a fee for access requests unless they are manifestly unfounded or excessive.
Server log data is retained for a maximum of 90 days for security purposes, after which it is automatically purged. Anonymised aggregate statistics (no individual identifiers) may be retained indefinitely for operational benchmarking. Email correspondence is retained for two years then deleted unless a legal hold requires otherwise.
Data stored in your browser’s localStorage (age-gate and cookie-consent flags) is stored entirely on your own device and is under your full control. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser data.
CedarChoice is strictly an 18+ platform. We do not knowingly collect any information from persons under 18 years of age. If you believe a person under 18 has accessed the platform, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to identify and remove any associated data. Our age gate is a technical measure intended to support this restriction but it is the responsibility of parents and guardians to monitor internet access by minors in their care.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect any personal data we hold against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we maintain industry-standard precautions.
We may update this Privacy Charter from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of CedarChoice after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised charter. If the changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via a banner on the homepage.
